Sesame Street is one of the longest educational children's television shows of all time. Sesame Street first aired on November 10, 1969, has been on the air for 38 years, and still has a very strong following. One of the founders of Sesame Street other then Jim Henson is Joan Ganz Cooney. The name Sesame Street was first introduced on the pitch reel of Sesame Street which Rowlf the Dog and Kermit the Frog hosted. Sesame Street is an hour long running television which airs on PBS on week days the show consists of animated and puppetry sketches. The show's 38th season started on August 12, 2007.
