Ben Olafson is one of the six protagonists of The Puzzle Place. He is a Norwegian-American boy, as shown when he does Norwegian folk dance in a traditional costume ("That's Weird"). He lives with his widowed mother (as his father was said to have passed away in "Big Boys Don't Cry") and his brothers (but their names and quantity are unknown). He is also shown to have a cousin named Mark (by unspecified means) (played by a human actor instead of a puppet), a grandmother, and uncles (again, their names and quantity are unknown). He lives on a farm, as shown not only in the background of the intro, but also in the wraparounds for the Accentuate the Positive tape.
Ben was puppeteered by Jim Martin, a Producer associate of Puppets.
